A Bespoke Full Day Workshop

A well structured day. I found Steve helpful and informative throughout and good company too.
Thank you!

Before a workshop is arranged, I will send you a ‘Pre-workshop questionnaire’. It’s not too long but it will give me an idea of where you are in your photography, the equipment you use and what you want to get out of your day. Once I get that back from you, I’ll put together a proposed programme for the day - we can then adjust it to suit your needs. Once you’re happy, we’ll arrange a mutually convenient date for the workshop. Nothing is set in stone, so if, on the day, you want to change anything or discuss anything that’s not on the programme - that’s OK - it’s your day.

It’s a full day. We usually meet around 09.30 in Keswick (other locations can be arranged) and from there, we’ll visit a variety of nearby, accessible locations that maximise your opportunities to experiment and develop new skills. Don’t worry, there’s no fell-walking involved. Locations will be fairly near to each other in order to minimise travel time and maximise photography time. At the end of the day we’ll finish with a debrief (usually in a coffee shop) to ensure that we’ve covered everything.

Finally, I’ll leave you with some handouts that cover the key areas we’ve discussed during the day. I’ll also ask you to complete a short ‘Post workshop feedback form’ - this helps me ensure that my workshops are hitting the mark.

Course participants use their own equipment - from an ipad to a full-frame digital SLR, it doesn’t matter what you use, just bring what you’re comfortable with and I’ll help you get the most out of your equipment. I won’t be spending time taking my own photographs - time spent on workshops is your time and it’s important to me that you get the most out of your day and that there’s plenty of opportunities to discuss your learning needs.

A full day workshop will cost £180 per person. A discounted price applies according to the number of people booking. Full day workshops are usually limited to a maximum of 4 people. Larger group bookings are available. If you wish to book as a larger group, please discuss your requirements with me.

Some points to note:

1 - It would be really helpful for you to get to know your camera settings before the workshop. This will help you get the most from your session although I am, of course, available to help with any issues that arise throughout the day.

2 - If you have any mobility or health needs that you feel might impact on your enjoyment of the workshop, please let me know beforehand and I’ll do my best to help. Please remember to bring strong footwear, waterproofs and clothing suitable for the weather and time of year. Your camera equipment including a tripod if you have one, a notebook and please remember to fully charge your batteries and/or bring spares! You’ll need sufficient food for your day and you might want to carry a drink with you.
